The Founder Director Of Joy Of Learning Foundation – Manju Singhania, is a teacher trainer of great repute and has over two decades of experience in the field of education and special education. Her forte lies in play based methods of teaching and imparting education for differently abled children with Intellectual and Physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD and Learning Difficulties. A Certified Master Trainer from Hanen Center, Canada, she is one of the few trainers authorized to award certificates in India on behalf of Hanen Centre for ‘Learning Language and Loving It!’ a course on language, communication & literacy development for pre-school and primary school teachers.
Ms. Singhania has worked as the Director of Training and Development in Latika Roy Foundation, an NGO dedicated to the cause of special education for over two decades and is a member of the State Resource Group for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
A qualified Montessori & Nursery Teacher Trainer, Ms. Singhania holds a Bachelors degree in Education with Masters in Social Work and Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education. She has attended numerous professional courses like One year training in educating children with Special Needs, She is a certified Narrative Therapist having done a year long Course on Narrative Therapy Practices from Umeed Child Development Center , Mumbai (affiliated to Narrative Practices, Australia ). She is, Certified in the School’s Attuned Course for teaching children with Learning Difficulties by Mel Levine- USA. She is a trained Hanen Early Communication Interventionist after completing the SPARK COMMUNICATION training by the Hanen Center and is qualified in coaching parents to use hands on strategies for communication and interaction development of all children.
During her vast journey through this career path, Manju Singhania has trained hundreds of people consisting of Doctors, Nurses, ASHA and Aanganwadi workers, Mainstream school teachers of Indian and Tibetan schools, School Principals, SSA Coordinators, Resource Teachers, Special Educators, Parents of Children with special needs and also typically developing children and many community members. She has also developed many training modules for short term courses for Parents and Assistant Teachers. And modules for SSA too.
A co winner of the CNN IBN Real Hero Award for her contribution in the field of disability in Uttarakhand, and the Jijabai Women Achievers Award, Ms. Singhania has appeared in many Television and print media Interviews and has been the chief guest at different school programs.
Manju Singhania strongly believes that every child is capable of learning something if only the people interacting with the child do it in an appropriate manner and that is why she focuses on providing the correct method of communicating and interacting for parents and teachers of young children as they form the most important people in a child’s life.
